Bad Cleaning Habits You Need to Break

In this hectic world, we are all looking for ways to make cleaning more easier and faster. Sometimes using shortcuts, make it harder for you in the long run. You develop some bad habits when you use faster ways to clean your home. By thinking that you are doing the job more efficiently, you might be causing harm to your home.

It is high time to break those habits so you can get a cleaner home. The easiest way is to change one or two cleaning habits each week. In less time, you will have a cleaner home and more free time for things you enjoy.

1. Get rid of excess paper clutter

Accumulating bills or newspapers end up creating mountains of papers in our homes. Don’t let your newspapers, magazines, school papers or projects pile up. For all your letters, periodicals and paper forms, keep a place near the entryway. For at least once a week, make sure that you go through the papers and sort them out. File all your important papers. Frame your pictures and share your magazines with retirements homes or simply read them online.

2. Don’t leave your wet towels or shower curtains bunched up

Want to spend less time scrubbing the floor of your bathroom? Don’t let your wet towels and shower curtains on the floor. This is one of the simplest habits that you can break. In order to decrease mildew growth and help your floor to dry quickly, you should take a habit of closing the shower curtain after every shower. By simply hanging your wet towel to dry, you get to use them for a second or third time.

3. Using only one disinfectant wipe to clean the entire bathroom

Disposable disinfectant wipes are great when it comes to clean the bathroom sink. However, they barely contain enough disinfectant to clean your entire bathroom. If you use only one wipe to clean the whole, it will simply move the bacterias from one place to another. For it to be effective, make sure that the wipe contains enough disinfectant moisture so that the surface remains wet for at least 4 minutes. Make sure that you use multiple wipes along with a water solution.

4. Leaving dirty dishes in the sink

How much time is it going to take to put that dirty glass or plate in the dishwasher instead of leaving it in the sink? Accumulated dirty dishes in the sink is a feast for bacterias and a jackpot for insects. Make sure that you train everyone at your place to wash their dishes immediately or put it in the dishwasher.
